Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Fellowship Award 
to 
Shri K. Prasada Rao, J.E., Electricity Department,  Yanam

Shri Korukonda Prasada Rao, Junior Engineer, has been awarded " Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Fellowship Award" by the Bharatiya Dalita Sahitya Academy, New Delhi on 10.12.2004 for the recognition of his constant and valuable services in the Stage Drama for more than two decades in Yanam and Pondicherry.

        Shri Ponugumatla Vishnumurthy, Editor, Janamitra, Yanam and President, Bharatiya Dalita Sahitya Academy, Pondicherry and Smt. K. Lakshmi wife of Shri K. Prasada Rao, are also seen in this picture along with the award winner.

Shri Rao has been performing stage dramas since 1984. He has played both mythological and social roles in various dramas. He was very popular in  playing the roles like "Yayati Raj" in 'Shri Ramanjaneya Yuddam'  drama and Hari Chandra role in 'Sri Satya Hari Chandra' Drama. He is born and brought up in Yanam. He is the first citizen of Yanam to receive Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Fellowship Award which will be given for the people who did excellence in Arts, Social Services, Poets, Dramas etc.
